Joshua Wright's Latest Mashup Of Eddie Vedder's "Hard Sun" And "The Devil In The Bottle" Is Anticipated To Soar.

Joshua Wright is a musician from Franklin County, Virginia who is 31 years old and began playing the guitar at the age of 12. He has since learned to play the drums, piano, bass, and ukulele.

Wright’s parents immersed him in the realm of music as a child by signing him up for guitar lessons at the local music store in the small town of Rocky Mount, Virginia. He initially showed little interest in this new venture but stayed with it and it began to show results. He believes it is crucial to encourage children at an early age to pursue music or any passion for that matter that will demand hard work and consistency to ultimately encourage them and to start them on a path towards fulfillment.

His identifies his music genre as a mixture of outlaw country and oldies. Speaking of the creative process of composing music, he remarked, “virtually all of my inspiration happens to be taken from real-life experiences and hardships which were the building blocks towards the artist I am today. Before I released my debut single, “The Devil In The Bottle”, I never thought songwriting would ever encompass me and just wasn’t something I was cut out for. It took awhile until I began to recognize the raw emotion and the deep sincerity in my lyrics and vocals that I began to realize that I might have something here.”

Joshua replied “greatly” when asked about the impact of the internet on the music industry today. “It isn’t like when Presley or Cash strolled into Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee and hollered, ‘I have something I would like y’all to hear’, then liking it, and cutting a record. Even with the internet and social media and all, I believe it is much more difficult to become successful nowadays. I do however think that a artist that wasn’t previously well known on a widespread basis can still flourish with correct public relations expertise, compelling material, a likable personality, appealing music that folks can relate to, and a God-given drive to succeed…I think they may just have a shot. You need to be able to relate to the listeners and that’s exactly why I believe “The Devil In The Bottle” has done so well. It a true story that a vast majority of us have known all too well at some point or another.

In response to a question regarding his ideal collaboration or the artists he would most like to collaborate with, Wright remarked, “pretty much all of my top favorites (artists) have passed on. Elvis, Cash, Waylon, and Holly…those are some who have left a tremendous legacy on countless individuals and are no longer with us.”

Out of contemporary artists, he remarked that country singer / songwriter Keith Urban possesses the talent, charisma, and stage persona embodying some of those original “roots” in early music.

He also discussed a rather useless talent of his saying, “for some odd reason, I’m great with dates and locations. Would you like to know the year JFK was assassinated and where? Perhaps the year Forest Gump was released and filming locations? We’ll I’m your man.” However, he also remarked that he wouldn’t necessarily call this a completely useless talent.

He also mentioned another passion of his. Flying. Wright is now working toward obtaining his private pilot’s license and mentioned that flying has always been a passion of his.

His next live performance will be at Buddy’s BBQ in Rocky Mount, Virginia on February 25th, 2023.

When asked about upcoming ventures for 2023, Wright remarked that he plans to release one original song every three months in addition to a full cover album.

Wright is set for success and has pushed it even farther with his new mashup of Eddie Vedder’s “Hard Sun” and his own “The Devil In The Bottle” featuring German artist Vivi which was released December 19th, 2022 and has racked in thousands of views across his social media accounts.
