Metallica will play a special concert with The San Francisco Symphony to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking collaborative album S&M, the band announced Monday (March 18).

The one-night-only show, appropriately titled S&M², is set for Sept. 6 at the Chase Center and will also mark the brand-new arena's grand opening in downtown San Francisco.

Originally recorded live at The Berkeley Community Theatre in 1999, S&M featured the hard-rock icons performing songs like “Master of Puppets,” “Until It Sleeps” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls” along with symphonic accompaniment composed by conductor Michael Kamen of The San Francisco Symphony.

During the commemorative concert, Metallica will share the stage with Michael Tilson Thomas, who will conduct part of the show to kick off his final season as the symphony’s longtime music director.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at the Chase Center website, with various presales occurring earlier in the week. Check out Metallica’s announcement below.
